Preview: Sharon Springs Central Spartans vs. Schenevus Central Dragons
The Sharon Springs Central Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Schenevus Central Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sharon Springs Central has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
Sharon Springs Central suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Richfield Springs Central, falling 74-47. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sharon Springs Central in their matchups with Richfield Springs Central: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, Sharon Springs Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lilly Tessier, who scored 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tessier has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Fassett, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Schenevus Central had to kick off their season on the road back in December of 2023, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past Franklin Central with points to spare, taking the game 44-28. Schenevus Central pushed the score to 41-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Franklin Central cut but never quite recovered from.
Sharon Springs Central dropped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Schenevus Central, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
