Basketball Recap: Tanner Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Tanner Rattlers ended up a good deal behind the West Morgan Rebels and lost 73-54. The Rattlers were down 69-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Tanner saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cade Dorning posted 13 points and six rebounds. Ping Malone was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took for 10 points.

Even though they lost, Tanner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Tanner's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for West Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Tanner has already played their next contest, an 83-55 victory against Clements on the 21st. As for West Morgan, they will take on Priceville at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
