Basketball Recap: Lincoln Nelson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South over Gwynn Park

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South lost against Gwynn Park back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers fell 46-37 to the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lincoln Nelson, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Cross, who earned 12 points.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Gwynn Park, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South will venture away from home to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gwynn Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglass knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 contests -- so hopefully Gwynn Park likes a good challenge.
