Basketball Recap: Metropolitan Learning Center Comes Up Short

Metropolitan Learning Center suffered their biggest loss since January 17th on Monday. They came up short against the Weaver Beavers, falling 66-46. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Beavers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Metropolitan Learning Center still got an impressive performance from Alijah Grice, who posted 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Metropolitan Learning Center's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Benjamin, who scored ten points.

Metropolitan Learning Center's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Weaver, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.

Coming up, Metropolitan Learning Center will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Academy of Science and Innovation at 7:00 p.m. Academy of Science and Innovation will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Metropolitan Learning Center surely won't give up without a fight. As for Weaver, they will challenge Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
