Preview: Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles vs. Dieterich Movin Maroons
The Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Dieterich Movin Maroons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Brownstown/St. Elmo strolled past North Clay/Clay City with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brownstown/St. Elmo.
Meanwhile, Dieterich didn't have too much trouble with Oblong at home on Tuesday as they won 52-36. The win was just what Dieterich needed coming off of a 66-45 defeat in their prior match.
Dieterich relied on the efforts of Kady Tegler, who scored 14 points, and Miley Britton, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Britton has scored at least 25% of Dieterich's points. Another player making a difference was Estella Meinhart, who scored 2 points along with 13 rebounds.
Brownstown/St. Elmo's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Dieterich, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Brownstown/St. Elmo came up short against Dieterich when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 54-42. Can Brownstown/St. Elmo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
