Football Recap: Alleman Pioneers vs. Galesburg Silver Streaks
Alleman started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Galesburg. They had to suffer through a 54-22 loss at the hands of the Silver Streaks. Pioneers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Silver Streaks since Friday.
Despite the loss, Alleman still got an impressive performance from Kyle Boden, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Boden also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making six total tackles.
Galesburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grady Hickey, who threw for 262 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Corey McGee helped Hickey out on the ground, rushing for 71 yards and three scores on only ten carries.
Alleman is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Galesburg, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Coming up, Alleman will be playing in front of their home fans against Rock Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
