Volleyball Recap: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Wetumpka Indians
Wetumpka typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Sylacauga proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Indians 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Aggies have posted since October 11, 2024.
Sylacauga had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 17-15.
Wetumpka lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ashlynn Turner, who had 22 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Burdett, who had 18 digs.
