Baseball Recap: Evangelical Christian Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

While Evangelical Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let the Harding Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Gates was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Bradley Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Evangelical Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harding Academy only posted an OBP of .182.

Evangelical Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Harding Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Evangelical Christian will welcome Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Purple Wave's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Harding Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lausanne Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
