Arp and West Rusk are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Arp Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the West Rusk Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arp knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully West Rusk likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Arp was able to grind out a solid win over Gladewater, taking the game 86-74. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 730th, while the Bears are ranked 1500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Rusk hadn't done well against Sabine recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. West Rusk pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over Sabine.

West Rusk's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Arp, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Arp was able to grind out a solid victory over West Rusk in their previous meeting back in January, winning 67-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arp since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
