Softball Recap: West Boca Raton Wins Going Away Against Braddock

With a playoff win on the line, West Boca Raton rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Braddock Bulldogs as they made off with a 9-1 win.

Megan Brockmann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, West Boca Raton let Mikaela Santiago and Teagan O'Neill run wild. Santiago got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, while O'Neill got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Santiago has posted since back in March. Nohelia Cruz-Cowan was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

West Boca Raton's record is now 6-14. As for Braddock, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

Coming up, West Boca Raton is taking a road trip to face off against South Plantation at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Paladins will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight. Braddock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
