Baseball Recap: Oberlin Takes a Loss

Oberlin lost against Firelands back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Phoenix lost 21-6 to the Falcons.

Drew Walter and Ehab Abuhamda stepped up to the plate in a big way. Walter scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Abuhamda scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jackson Cikalo also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Oberlin's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Firelands, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oberlin is set to take on their familiar foe Keystone at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Firelands will face off against rival Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
