Football Game Preview: Morgan Park Mustangs vs. King Jaguars + Official Tickets

The Morgan Park Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the King Jaguars at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Morgan Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Lincoln Park 50-0. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

A big part of Morgan Park's victory came down to the chemistry between Ronald Smith Jr. and his top target Travezz Jones. Smith Jr. rushed for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries while Jones picked up 143 receiving yards and two scores. Jones' longest reception was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Meanwhile, King never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Brooks 50-0. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Eagles are ranked 405th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Morgan Park better keep an eye on Jamar Lewis. He was instrumental in King's win, rushing for 205 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Lewis has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Nasir White also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.

King was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Morgan Park's record now sits at 4-2. As for King, their record is now an identical 4-2.
