Baseball Recap: Lutheran West Victorious

Lutheran West came out on top against West Geauga on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Longhorns walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Wolverines. This was a revenge game for the Longhorns: when they faced off against the Wolverines on Wednesday, they had to take a 10-5 loss.

Lutheran West's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Steven Alferink, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That run was Alferink's first of the season.

Lutheran West's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for West Geauga, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Lutheran West will welcome Hawken at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Geauga, they will venture away from home to take on Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
