Softball Game Preview: Bayfront Charter Sharks vs. Sweetwater Red Devils

The Bayfront Charter Sharks will square off against the Sweetwater Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bayfront Charter has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Sweetwater will arrive with five straight victories.

Bayfront Charter fell victim to Coronado and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 14-0 to the Islanders.

Meanwhile, Sweetwater earned an 8-5 win over Montgomery on Friday.

Sweetwater let Emily Romero and Gabriella Sena run wild. Romero scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Sena scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Ariana Tovar was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Sweetwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Sweetwater's victory bumped their record up to 6-0-1. As for Bayfront Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Bayfront Charter beat Sweetwater 6-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Does Bayfront Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sweetwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
