Basketball Recap: Ellicott's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ellicott extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jacey Lujan. The Ellicott Thunderhawks blew past the South Park Burros 50-5 on Thursday thanks in part to Lujan, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, nine assists, and ten steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nova Erickson, who posted eight points and seven boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Ellicott's record is now 5-1. As for South Park, they moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Ellicott will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Vanguard School at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for South Park, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-32 victory against Woodland Park on the 20th.
