Football Recap: Thursday's Win Is Yorktown's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Yorktown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Washington-Liberty Generals by a score of 31-24. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 28-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Among those leading the charge was Brady Owens, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one TD. Those 105 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Washington-Liberty still got an impressive performance from Brayden Black, who rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.

Yorktown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.9 points over those games. As for Washington-Liberty, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

Yorktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Washington-Liberty, they will take on Langley at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Saxons' defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so the Generals' offense will have their work cut out for them.
