Baseball Recap: Anderson County Triumphs

Anderson County came out on top against Karns on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Mavericks took their match against the Beavers 7-3. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Daniel Unthank looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Clay Fletcher, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Jeremiah Owens was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Anderson County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Anderson County's victory bumped their record up to 23-9. As for Karns, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson County will challenge Girard at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Karns, they will be playing at home against Powell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Beavers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
