Basketball Recap: IDEA Round Rock Tech Comes Up Short

IDEA Round Rock Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the KIPP Austin Collegiate Cardinals and fell 59-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Thunderbirds were not able to get on the board.

KIPP Austin Collegiate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Genesis Robles led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The contest was Robles' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Aimee Santiago was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

IDEA Round Rock Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for KIPP Austin Collegiate, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

IDEA Round Rock Tech will take on Idea Pflugerville at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. KIPP Austin Collegiate has already played their next match (against Founders Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
