Baseball Recap: Derryfield's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Derryfield was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Somersworth on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 11-1 to the Belmont Red Raiders on Monday. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Derryfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keith Townsend, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Derryfield fell to 3-1. As for Belmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Derryfield will square off against Newfound Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Belmont, they will challenge Campbell at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
