Softball Preview: Oxford Chargers vs. Southaven Chargers
Oxford has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southaven Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southaven took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Oxford, who comes in off a win.
While Oxford has not struggled against Lafayette recently, they managed to flip the script on Friday. Oxford came out on top in a nail-biter against Lafayette and snuck past 9-7. The win was just what Oxford needed coming off of a 16-3 loss in their prior contest.
Lindsey Gillis was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. MC King was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Southaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell victim to a tough 14-0 loss at the hands of Lewisburg.
Oxford's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Southaven, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
