Baseball Game Preview: Racine Horlick Rebels vs. Franklin Sabers

For the second straight game, Racine Horlick will face off against Franklin. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Sabers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Racine Horlick has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight losses, while Franklin will come in with nine straight wins.

Racine Horlick fell victim to Franklin and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sabers. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by exactly five runs.

For Franklin's part, Ben Hefter was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Hefter posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matches. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Franklin got a great performance from Cameron Lund as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, Lund posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since May 6th.

Hefter wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Onyu Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Franklin pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Racine Horlick, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
