De Soto had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the West Chargers a 9-0 shutout. Considering De Soto have won 12 games by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

De Soto's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those eight matchups. As for West, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10-2.

De Soto has already played their next contest, a 4-2 loss against Blue Valley North on the 15th. West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
