Basketball Game Preview: Carson Cougars vs. Central Davidson Spartans

The Carson Cougars and the Central Davidson Spartans will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Carson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Central Davidson likes a good challenge.

Carson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They breezed by South Rowan to the tune of 80-34. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Central Davidson waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 54-46.

Central Davidson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Carson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Central Davidson in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 62-56 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
