Baseball Recap: Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets vs. Penfield Patriots

Rush-Henrietta scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Penfield Patriots out 7-6. Winning may never get old, but Rush-Henrietta sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Rush-Henrietta got a great performance from Quentin Grimes as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Oliver Wright and Noah Sherman did most of the damage at the plate: Wright scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Sherman went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI. Sherman has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brendan Mangone, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

On Penfield's side, Jace Crawford was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Murray, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Rush-Henrietta's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Penfield, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Rush-Henrietta will head out on the road to challenge Brockport at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
