Football Recap: Plano Comes Up Short

Plano had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it eight. They lost 27-7 to the Johnsburg Skyhawks. The Reapers were not able to make up for their loss to the Skyhawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Johnsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Considering they have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Johnsburg to victory were Ryan Franze and Duke Mays. Franze picked up 139 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Mays rushed for 116 yards. Those 116 rushing yards gave Mays a new career-high.

Plano didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-8 win against Harvard on the 17th. As for Johnsburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 24-21 victory against Woodstock on the 17th.
