League recap: Clintondale tops Mt. Clemens to extend winning streak

Clintondale extended the longest winning streak in Macomb Area - Bronze this week by beating Mt. Clemens, 20-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Dragons.

New Haven took down Center Line 46-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Clawson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ty Sparks threw for 168 and one touchdown and Marquian Johnson had 73 yards receiving. On the ground Steven Klein chipped in 50 yards. Blake Blue helped Clawson's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 46 yards.

Clawson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sparks has thrown for 1151 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Johnson has 26 catches for 489 yards. Klein leads the league in rushing with 526 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Clintondale takes on the Rockets. Dave Schindler's team is currently in first, while New Haven is in third.

The Trojans and Lincoln played the most hotly contested game in Macomb Area - Bronze this week, with the Trojans eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Sparks in the win.
