Softball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

Hoover managed to slip by Guajome Park Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals lost 20-9 to the Frogs on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Lilly Robles stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Priscilla Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Guajome Park Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-7.

Coming up, Hoover will head out to face off against Mount Miguel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Matadors have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Guajome Park Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Classical Academy at 3:00 p.m. on the 21st. The Frogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Caimans have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
