Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hawthorne entered their tilt with Pompton Lakes on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Pompton Lakes Cardinals by a score of 54-47. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-41 on January 6th.

Hawthorne is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Pompton Lakes, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Hawthorne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-31 defeat against Glen Rock on the 23rd. Pompton Lakes has also already played their next matchup, a 55-42 loss against Butler on the 23rd.
