Volleyball Game Preview: Spring Valley Cardinals vs. Glenwood City Hilltoppers

The Spring Valley Cardinals will head out to face off against the Glenwood City Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood City took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Spring Valley, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Spring Valley challenged Durand-Arkansaw on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past the Panthers 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Spring Valley never let Durand-Arkansaw on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Glenwood City came up short against Elmwood/Plum City on Saturday and fell 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Glenwood City's loss dropped their record down to 6-24. As for Spring Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.

Everything went Spring Valley's way against Glenwood City in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Spring Valley made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
