Baseball Recap: Rowan County Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Rowan County put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Model Patriots. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Mason Havens was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Havens was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Bram Bloomfield looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brody Lykins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carson Madden, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Rowan County's record now sits at 7-0. As for Model, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Rowan County and Model will both be playing Russell the next time they take the field. Model will head out to face Russell at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Rowan County will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
