Basketball Recap: Normal West's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

The third road match was the charm for Normal West, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 57-50 win over the Prosser Falcons on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Normal West can attribute much of their success to Maliq Givens-Smith, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Zaleski, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Normal West's record is now 3-10. As for Prosser, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Normal West will host Rantoul at 2:30 p.m. on January 4th. As for Prosser, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Senn at 5:00 p.m. on January 7th.
