Baseball Recap: Dulaney Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Dulaney won the last time they faced Gilman and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 10-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Drew Ranck made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Dylan Hebbel looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Dulaney got a massive performance out of Logan Park, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave Park a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Rich, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Dulaney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dulaney pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gilman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Dulaney will square off against Western Tech & Environmental Science at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gilman, they will be playing at home against Landon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
