Softball Game Preview: Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers vs. Carmichaels Mighty Mikes

Berlin Brothersvalley has won three straight games at home, while Carmichaels has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Mountaineers will welcome the Mighty Mikes at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Berlin Brothersvalley 2.2, Carmichaels 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Berlin Brothersvalley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Meyersdale with a sharp 16-9 win. Considering the Mountaineers have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Berlin Brothersvalley's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Carmichaels, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 16-1.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Berlin Brothersvalley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Carmichaels struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
