Volleyball Recap: Arcadia's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

Arcadia lost against South Pasadena back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Apaches came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The loss put an end to the Apaches' undefeated start to the season.

While South Pasadena got the win, Arcadia sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. The final score came out to 25-19, 28-26, 26-24.

Malia Takeoka paced Arcadia's offense, picking up seven kills. Takeoka got some help from Angelina Zhou and her ten assists. Clara Massey controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

South Pasadena was led to victory by Ella Garner and Senya Dorny. Garner had 18 digs and two aces, while Dorny had 19 kills, 16 digs, two aces, and one block. Dorny has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 22 times she's played. Maiya Gallo also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for South Pasadena, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Arcadia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Burbank on the 28th. As for South Pasadena, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against La Salle on the 28th.
