Soccer Game Preview: Northwest Guilford vs. Parkland

The Northwest Guilford Vikings will square off against the Parkland Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Guilford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Northwest Guilford was handed a three-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Forsyth, sneaking past 3-2. Given Northwest Guilford's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while East Forsyth are ranked 215th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest Guilford hit East Forsyth with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aiden Bankston, Matthew Holcomb, and Keller Nash.

Meanwhile, Parkland fell victim to Reagan and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Raiders. Parkland haven't had much luck with Reagan recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Northwest Guilford's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three contests. As for Parkland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.
