Baseball Recap: Orcutt Academy Takes a Loss

Orcutt Academy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 26-2 to the Morro Bay Pirates. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Orcutt Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Moses Aguirre, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Aguirre hit this season.

Orcutt Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Morro Bay, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Orcutt Academy has already played their next matchup, a 16-0 loss against Nipomo on the 19th. As for Morro Bay, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Santa Ynez at 4:30 p.m. Morro Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
