Wayne waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 53-52 W against the Ripley Vikings. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 78-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Wayne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Meddings, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points and seven boards. Meddings is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cooper Adkins, who posted ten points.

Wayne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Ripley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyler Doss, who earned 12 points. Brady Mcvay was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Wayne's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points over those games. As for Ripley, their record is now 13-5.

Wayne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 91-59 loss against Chapmanville Regional on the 18th. As for Ripley, they have also already played their next contest, an 85-44 win against Lincoln County on the 18th.
