Basketball Recap: Briarwood Takes a Loss

Briarwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 60-25 loss at the hands of the Brazosport Christian Eagles. The Mustangs were probably out for revenge after losing 53-16 to them when the teams met back in December of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tyson Sullivan was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine boards for Brazosport Christian. Those 17 points gave Sullivan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shep Poe, who posted seven points and six steals.

Briarwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Brazosport Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Briarwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-26 defeat against School of the Woods on the 7th. As for Brazosport Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-19 win against Central Christian Academy on the 7th.
