Baseball Recap: Clint Extends Winning Streak to Four

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Clint had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Bowie Bears 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four contests in a row.

Joe Aranda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Clint is 8-2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Oliver Chavez was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Clint pushed their record up to 16-11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bowie, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Clint will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
