Cypress Falls extended their winning streak  to four  on Saturday, bumping them up to 5-3. They enjoyed a cozy  55-37 victory over the Stratford Spartans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played  back in October of 2024.

Cypress Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Gabriel Wilson led the charge by rushing for 182 yards and a pair of  TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance,  Wilson is now averaging an impressive 104.6  rushing yards per game.  Deron Simpson also helped out as he racked up 157 rushing yards.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cypress Falls was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 426  rushing yards. They are 4-1 when  they've run for more than 200 yards.
 Cypress Falls' defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB  three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  James Harris,  Casen Warren,  and  Liam Madkins, who each picked up one  sack apiece. Madkins got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
As for Stratford,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-5. Those  losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 32.5 points over those games.
 Stratford lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Cody Hanlen, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two  touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jake Weinhardt, who picked up 74 receiving yards and one  score.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cypress Falls will  square off against  rival Cy-Fair  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Stratford is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Cypress Ridge  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
