League recap: Mendon leading St. Joseph Valley at 10-4

St. Joseph Valley league recap: 5/29/12

Mendon currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the league. Bronson is zero games back and in second place with a 6-3 league record.

The most league losses this week belonged to White Pigeon, which dropped one games to St. Joseph Valley teams. The Chiefs were defeated by 4b7b016e-ef3c-4a0e-bf0c-abbfa0d0779d 9-7.

The Vikings' pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only eight hits and four walks, both of which led the league. Bronson has given up a mere 208 hits on the year, while striking out 123 opposing hitters. Mason Friedel is the leader in that category with 53 Ks on the season.

Hayden Jergens had a multi-hit game on Tuesday, when he went 4-5 in Bronson's 9-7 win against White Pigeon. He also drove in two runners.
