The Basalt Longhorns can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They snuck past Aspen with a 30-24 victory. That six point margin sets a new team best for Basalt this season.

Several Skiers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ambler Henderson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. That was a full 37.5% of Aspen's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basalt will take on Summit at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Basalt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Summit is ranked 142nd). As for Aspen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Grand Valley will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Aspen surely won't give up without a fight.
