Soccer Game Preview: Peoria vs. Geneseo

The Peoria Lions will venture away from home to take on the Geneseo Maple Leafs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Peoria's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Wednesday, Peoria came up short against Manual and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Geneseo). They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Macomb on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Geneseo as it put an end to their 15-match losing streak.

Their offense was hitting Macomb from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Cole Clifton led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Geneseo's victory bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Peoria, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
