Volleyball Game Preview: Brownstown Central Braves vs. North Harrison Cougars

Brownstown Central has gone a perfect 10-0 against North Harrison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Brownstown Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Brownstown Central got the win against Scottsburg by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Brownstown Central was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-12, 25-9.

Brownstown Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Finley Wheeler led the charge by getting 34 assists and eight digs. Wheeler is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 20 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Wischmeier, who had 17 kills and six digs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when North Harrison took on Salem on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lions. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

North Harrison was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 19-25, 25-19, 25-14.

Brownstown Central's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for North Harrison, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.

Brownstown Central took their win against North Harrison when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
