Basketball Recap: O'Neill Comes Up Short

O'Neill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bluejays from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, O'Neill still got an impressive performance from Turner Heiss, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Heiss a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Braxen Eichelberger, who posted 14 points.

O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles duke it out with the Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-47 defeat against Norfolk Catholic on the 8th.
