Softball Recap: Hillsboro Wins Going Away Against Canton-Galva

Hillsboro won the last time they faced Canton-Galva and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hillsboro blew past Canton-Galva 19-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Hillsboro let Khloe Funk and Abby Beavers run wild. Funk went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Beavers scored five runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those five runs gave Beavers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Bernhardt, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Hillsboro's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Canton-Galva, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Hillsboro and Canton-Galva will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Hillsboro is set to square off against their familiar foe Haven at 4:00 p.m. on April 4. Meanwhile, Canton-Galva will take on rival Little River at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
