While Dowagiac might've come up empty on Tuesday, Cole Wimberley wasn't going down without a fight. Despite the defeat, Wimberley was still locked in as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Even though Wimberley couldn't lead Dowagiac over Brandywine, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chieftains haven't beaten the Bobcats recently, having gone 0-7 since April of 2016.
