Softball Recap: Marshfield Extends Winning Streak to Three

Marshfield put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the North Quincy Raiders get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sofia Blanco made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Marshfield let Madelyn Whitaker and Madison Adams run wild. Whitaker scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Adams scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Sarah McIntyre was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Marshfield's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for North Quincy, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Marshfield will challenge Whitman-Hanson Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Quincy, they will square off against Brockton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
