Basketball Game Preview: Monticello Billies vs. Hamburg Lions

Monticello and Hamburg are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Monticello Billies will host the Hamburg Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Monticello will be strutting in after a victory while Hamburg will be coming in after a defeat.

Monticello is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 59-23 win over Dermott. The victory was some much needed relief for the Billies as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Hamburg was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 55-23 defeat at the hands of Sheridan.

Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Monticello, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.

Monticello ended up a good deal behind Hamburg in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 53-38. Can Monticello avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
