With a playoff win on the line, Arcata rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Winters Warriors with a sharp 35-14 win. Considering the Tigers have won nine matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Lemke was his usual excellent self, rushing for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Arcata didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackson Strand and Lincoln Neuman.

Lane Brown and Gio Jimenez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Brown threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns, while Jimenez gained 128 total yards and a touchdown. Jimenez showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 52 yards.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Arcata, bringing their record for this year to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Winters, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.

Arcata will head out on the road to challenge Portola at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Portola will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Winters does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
